Finished Art

Well, what a brilliant group of artists we have in Year 6! Feast your eyes on our finished art project. Ladies and gentlemen, I present 'Figures in Motion' (with a little bit of pattern work thrown in for fun!)

Don't forget to comment!

Nearly there!

We have almost finished our 'figures in motion' project! We are putting the finishing touches to our last piece of artwork for this unit.

What sort of patterns do you think work best? I like the big, bold ones- especially when they have been outlined carefully in black.

Pastel Work

Today we continued with our art project and looked at other ways to show motion. I was really impressed with how well Year 6 used shape and line to show the body - without too much detail!

What do you think? This work is by Kathryn and Phoebe.

Here is the art we looked at to get our inspiration. Can you find any more art which uses smudging and blurring to create motion?

Charcoal Fun!

Take a look at these fantastic pieces of work by Paige and Courtney...

How can you tell that the bodies are moving? Have they captured the size and shape of the body using tube and ball?

What was it like working with charcoal?

On the move...

Today we started our art topic called 'On the Move' which is all about close observation of figures in motion. We had to look really carefully at the parts of the body which we're moving, the angles and the joints (knee and elbow).

Mr Harris showed us how to use tubes and balls to create more realistic figures. Have a look at the examples below - can you guess what each figure is supposed to be doing?

Another fabulous day!
